ScrollScript Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

ScrollScript is designed to work locally on your iPhone or iPad. This version does not require an account and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or a developer-operated cloud service.

Information ScrollScript handles

ScrollScript can handle scripts you type, paste, or import; prompt preferences; and videos you choose to record. These items are stored in the app’s local storage on your device.

ScrollScript does not transmit this content to Brian Drummond Services or a ScrollScript server. Imported PDF, Word, RTF, Markdown, and text files are processed on the device.

Camera and microphone

ScrollScript requests camera and microphone permission only when you choose the video-recording feature. Camera and microphone content is used to create the recording you requested and is saved locally on your device. Teleprompter text is displayed to you and is not burned into the recorded video.

You can deny or later revoke camera and microphone access in Apple Settings. The non-recording teleprompter can still be used without those permissions.

Sharing

ScrollScript sends a script or recording outside the app only when you choose an Apple share or export action. The destination you select, such as Photos, Files, Messages, email, or another app, handles that information under its own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Scripts and recordings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app and its data. Exported copies must be deleted from their destination separately.

Third-party code

ScrollScript uses ZIPFoundation to read modern Word .docx files locally. This version contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDK.

Changes to this policy

If ScrollScript’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before the changed version is released.
